The management of social issues constitutes one of the main challenges to many investments. The identification and management of those aspects from a very early stage in projects/ programs and their active management throughout their durations can increase their chances of success.
AREMO mobilizes social support for projects and / or programs to reduce their risks and uncertainties and improve their reputations and perception by the population. Social studies that we conduct are tailored to the needs of our customers and focused mainly on :
- Social baseline studies providing useful information on the status and demographic and economic trends, political structures, local organizations, cultural characteristics ... etc. The social baseline study is based on the analysis of data and information collected by qualitative, quantitative and participatory methods. Each method offers a different perspective and contributes to the establishment of a comprehensive socio-economic panorama. The combined application of these methods is usually accompanied by extensive consultations with stakeholders.
- Identification and prioritization of the needs of population allows the identification of target areas’ needs based on the results of the baseline social studies.
- Social actions plans or Community development plans/programmes containing a set of prioritized actions with specific targets for different categories of people concerned.
- Integration of a gender approach in the projects by mobilizing analysis tools of roles and specific constraints of women in each context in order to propose appropriate intervention strategies. These are then integrated into the definition, implementation and evaluation of projects and programs.
